In a bid to guide youths towards diligence and away from cybercrime, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Students’ Association (AMSA) National Executives visited Government Secondary School, Ilorin, on Monday, October 28, 2025. The visit formed part of the pre-convention activities ahead of the Annual Higher Institutions Convention (AHIC) scheduled to hold at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, from Thursday, October 30 to Sunday, November 2, 2025.

The fifteen-member delegation, led by the National President of AMSA Nigeria, Hafiz Sulaimon AbdulQudus, engaged over 150 senior secondary school students in an inspiring session themed “Embracing Hard Work over Lazy Work Amongst Youths: The Path to Creating a Better Nigerian Society.” The session aimed to encourage students to prioritize skill development, productivity, and academic excellence over social media distractions and the lure of easy wealth.

The National Vice President (South West Region), Bro. Sheriffdeen Saula, urged students to explore opportunities within their respective fields of study. He encouraged them to engage in time-productive activities such as applying for scholarships that could fund their education while warning against being misled by social media portrayals of luxury lifestyles. He emphasized the importance of focusing on building skills and discipline as tools for long-term success.

The National Sports Secretary, Hafiz Hayat Abdullah, also advised the students to acquire vocational and technical skills that could empower them to become self-reliant and resilient in the face of societal pressures. The session was followed by a lively question-and-answer segment, during which several attentive students were rewarded with cash tokens in recognition of their active participation.

Other members of the delegation included the National Vice President (Admin), Bro. Arowosere AbdulKhabeer; the National General Secretary, Bro. Adeeyo Masroor-Mahmood; the Assistant General Secretary, Hafiz Faruq Ademoye; the National Secondary School Coordinator, Bro. AbdulAwwal Intisor; the Kwara State AMSA President, Bro. Akorede Musowwir; the University of Ilorin AMSA President, Hafiz Fouadh Busari; and Public Relations Officers, Bro. Towolawi Aleemuddeen and Bro. Adenekan Abdul Ganiy, among others.

The visit underscored AMSA’s commitment to nurturing responsible, skillful, and hardworking youth, providing them with guidance to reject cybercrime and embrace productive endeavours that can contribute to a better Nigerian society.
