AMSA Nigeria President Delivers Powerful Address at AHIC 2024 Symposium

The President of AMSA Nigeria, Hafiz Abdulqudus Sulaimon, delivered a thought-provoking address at the 2024 Annual Higher Institutions Convention (AHIC) symposium, which took place at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State. The convention, themed “From Inactivity to Impact: Strengthening Ahmadi Identity through AMSA,” marked a significant milestone as it was the first AHIC hosted in northern Nigeria since the inception of AMSA in 1983.

In his address, Sulaimon began by giving thanks to Allah for the success of the convention, acknowledging His everlasting blessings upon the attendees and the entire AMSA community. He also offered prayers for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) and his companions, reminding the audience of the spiritual journey that they were all part of.

He highlighted the uniqueness of this year’s convention, not only for its location but also for the key message it carried. Drawing inspiration from the life of the Holy Prophet (saw), Sulaimon recounted how Prophet Muhammad (saw) faced an uphill task of reviving a morally and spiritually dormant Arabia at the age of 40. He likened this to the challenge that Ahmadi students now face in making an impact in their communities, moving from a state of inactivity to a position of positive influence.

Sulaimon emphasized that, just as the Prophet (saw) succeeded in his mission, Ahmadi students too must strive to overcome obstacles and contribute to the growth of the Jamaat. He urged the attendees to reflect on their responsibilities and to find ways to strengthen their Ahmadi identity through AMSA’s work.

He posed key questions to the audience, encouraging them to consider how they could support the mission of the Promised Messiah (as) and navigate the challenges of student life in a way that leaves a lasting, positive imprint on society. The speech also highlighted the various activities of the convention, from courtesy visits to medical outreach, lectures, and competitions—all aimed at reinforcing the theme of the event.

Sulaimon concluded his speech by reminding members of the financial and personal sacrifices necessary to achieve this impact, while encouraging them to remain steadfast in their mission. He expressed his hope that the lessons learned during the convention would inspire AMSA members to contribute positively to the community of Ahmad (as).

The symposium at AHIC 2024 was a culmination of discussions, reflections, and a call to action for Ahmadi students to move forward with renewed purpose and commitment.
